Yes — listing your home, browsing all matches, messaging, and meeting your match are all free. We have an optional Premium tier (£6.99/month) for power users who want extra reach. You never need to pay to find your swap match.

Our algorithm scans every active home in the UK against your preferences (location, bedrooms, amenities, must-haves) and ranks each potential swap with a compatibility score plus the reasons why. It runs in seconds, every time you open the app or update your preferences.

A chain swap is a multi-party swap. If you want to move to Leeds and your home is in Manchester, but no one in Leeds wants to come to Manchester directly, our algorithm looks for chains: e.g. you → Tom in Leeds → Aisha in Bristol → you. Everyone gets the home they wanted. We're the only UK platform with chain swaps fully built in.

Open Settings → Verification in the app, take a selfie holding your photo ID, and submit. Our team reviews within 24 hours. Your ID is reviewed once and immediately deleted from our servers. Verified swappers get a badge and rank higher in match results.

No. Your exact address is never displayed publicly. Map pins are fuzzed by ~200m. Your full address is only shared with a match once you both agree to share it. Photos can also be watermarked to deter scraping.

Yes — Link My Swap supports both private home swaps and council mutual exchanges. We don't handle the housing-association paperwork (that stays between you, your match and your housing association/landlord), but we do handle finding the match and coordinating the move.

You can chat in real time, send voice notes, do video calls, schedule viewings, and eventually mark the swap as completed in the app. We celebrate your move and (if you opt in) feature your story on our Movement HQ.

For now, yes. We're focused on doing UK home swaps brilliantly first. International expansion is on our roadmap but not yet live.

Tap the three-dot menu on any profile or chat and choose Report. Our moderation team reviews every report — usually within 4 hours during the day. You can also email support@linkmyswap.co.uk.

Anytime, from Settings → Data. Deleting removes your profile, photos and matches permanently. We keep a minimal record (UK GDPR requirement) for 90 days then it's gone.
