Privacy Policy

Last updated: 30 April 2026. We take privacy seriously. here's exactly what we collect and what we do with it.

1. Who we are

Link My Swap Ltd (Company No. 16954428, registered in United Kingdom) operates the Link My Swap mobile apps and https://linkmyswap.co.uk. We act as the data controller for the information you provide.

2. What we collect

  • Account info: name, email, phone (if provided), date of birth, profile photo.
  • Property info: address (stored privately), photos, bedrooms, amenities, descriptions.
  • Preferences: what you're looking for in a swap.
  • Usage data: messages, matches, swipes, app crashes.
  • Verification: if you opt in, ID documents. reviewed once, deleted within 24 hours.

3. How we use it

  • To match you with potential swap partners.
  • To enable messaging, voice/video calls, and notifications.
  • To moderate the platform and protect users.
  • To improve the product (anonymised analytics).
  • To send you transactional emails and (with consent) occasional product updates.

4. Who we share it with

We don't sell your data. We share it with:

  • Other matched swappers. only the parts you've chosen to make visible.
  • Google Firebase. our infrastructure provider for hosting, authentication, and data storage (UK/EU data residency where possible).
  • RevenueCat. for premium subscriptions only (no personal data beyond a user ID).
  • Email/SMS providers. to deliver communications you opted into.
  • Authorities. only when legally required (e.g. court order).

5. Your rights (UK GDPR)

You have the right to:

  • Access your data (Settings → Data → Export)
  • Correct your data (edit it in the app)
  • Delete your data (Settings → Data → Delete account)
  • Restrict or object to processing
  • Lodge a complaint with the ICO

6. Data retention

We keep your data while your account is active. After deletion, we retain a minimal record for 90 days then it's permanently deleted. Audit logs (admin actions) are kept for 7 years to comply with legal obligations.

6a. Saved listings

If you click Save on a public listing on https://linkmyswap.co.uk and provide your email, we store the email address, the listing slug, the page you were on, your IP address, and the timestamp in our saved_intents collection. We use this only to send you a weekly recap of that listing and similar homes. You can unsubscribe in one click from any email; we delete the record on request. We never sell or share this data with third parties.
